NOTICE TO: ALL HIGH SCHOOL ROWING COACHES and CLUB and TEAM ADMINISTRATORS

FROM: The CANADIAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS ROWING ASSOCIATION

RE: THE PROPOSED RCA RULE CHANGE THAT WILL LEAD TO THE ELIMINATION OF LIGHTWEIGHT ROWING FOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES

The Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association, has sent its concerns to Rowing Canada Aviron regarding certain of the proposed rule changes. However, because one proposed rule amendment will seriously alter the nature and character of Canadian high school rowing, which may, in turn, have disastrous consequences for all levels of Canadian rowing, we have decided to send this Notice to all of our stakeholders in Canada so that you can be fully informed and will take a strong position against this proposed rule change.

Other Rule changes you should see: Schedule "A" , Draft Rules

Please read the attached file which outlines our position regarding Proposed Rule 2.10 Lightweight Competitors

We ask that you discuss these changes with your Rowing Club Administration and We ask that your organization join CSSRA in rejecting this proposed change to the Canadian rules of racing and make your decision known to your Provincial Rowing Association and to Rowing Canada Aviron.
